Lakme Fashion Week - Winter Festive 2012 - Color Trends - Blue

Blue seems to be all prevalent in the coming season, if the recent shows are any indication. Many collections at the Lakme Fashion Week featured numerous different shades of the color, from sky to teal to indigo, blue was making its presence felt in most of the runway shows. Whether used with other colors, as the pre-dominent color, or as a trimming, blue is just making a comeback, and it seems likely that the color will be seen in many highly visible autumn wardrobes. Aniket Satam, the talented GenNext designer used cobalt and ink, splashed on sensuous viscose georgette, cotton jersey, raw silk and velvet, in his collection "Aarambh" (Beginning).

Anita Dongre's glamourous "Urban Goddess" collection had some stunning outfits in the preferred color of the season, while Debarun chose the colour blue as a constant for his creations as well as added beige and black for the base, to give depth to his creativity.

I am personally a big fan of Blue, and I do feel that the color works well in Indian designs and silhouettes. So while the Mumbai skies stay stubbornly grey, there is, after all, some cheerful blue to drive away the seasonal blues...

Lakme Fashion Week - Black and Gold

Black and gold seem to have an ever-lasting partnership in Indian fashion. This time, they found new grounds for their union. From classic silhouettes, to flowing forms, the color duo made its presence felt across the fashion week shows. A rare, urban sophistication has, fortunately, found its ground in this trend's renewal. Too severe by itself, black finds a softer accent in gold. And gold, left alone tends to become sheer bling, but black tones it down and adds depth.

Tresmode Resort Collection 2010

Trèsmode, the chic footwear brand, launched its Resort Collection 2010 at Lakme Fashion Week, as ‘The Official Footwear Partner’. The brand partnered with several established designers and new talent to showcase their shoes on the ramp.

From the GenNext designers, to the well-established faces of India’s fashion fraternity, Tresmode’s international styles were visible across a variety of design philosophies and statements. From wedges and platforms clubbed with architectural heels, to multi strap platform sandals, Trèsmode ruled the ramp throughout the Fashion Week.

The colors that scorched the Resort ramps included hues of gold, blues, pinks, whites and greys. No wonder then, that Tresmode’s versatile Resort collection found a place in the shows of designers like Anand Kabra, Anita Dongre, Asmita Marwa, Harangad Singh Jandu, Lina Tipnis, Narendra Kumar, Neha Agarwal, Nidhi and Divya Gambhir, Pria Kataaria Puri, Paromita Banerjee, Rocky S, Rimi Nayak, Sougat Paul, Vizyon and Vipin Batra.
