My home, my castle!

Last Saturday, I celebrated my birthday with friends and family. I brought it in with my two best buddies, Roseanne and Elbert, and then spent the rest of the weekend with my Dad and my brother's family. Ate some awesome food, had some really random conversations with my little niece, and ate some more. It was a wonderful weekend. The kind that reminds you of how blessed you really are.

And I feel truly blessed when I step into my house. It's my space and feels like home. And it has evolved a bit since the last time I posted pictures. Here are some of the new pictures of my beautiful little castle.

Sing A Song... Sing Along...

My new house never fails to surprise me. It has these little, sweet gitfs to offer me every now and then. The other day, I spotted this colorful dude from my bedroom window. My friends, Yogesh and Reema, rushed down to meet him and click a few pictures. He is a "Vasudev". That's a traditional, Maharashtrian Folk form, the followers of which dance and sing while presenting anecdotes from Lord Krishna's life, in exchange for alms.

The striking headgear and the unusual accessories make them striking enough to be the central theme on a designer's inspiration board. Believe me, this gentleman is an amazing singer. He sings with such passion and zest that hearing his voice just makes my day. He doesn't visit every day, but when he does, it's a happy morning.

Indian culture has so many rare treasures to offer the world. It's unfortunate that the "Vasudevs" are now a rare sight. They bring such joy to the world with their soulful singing and nimble dancing. I am indeed lucky to see this gentleman near my house.
